Richard A. Block has practiced real estate and business law in Tucson and in Arizona for over 35 years. He is certified by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization of the Arizona State Bar as a Specialist in Real Estate Law. The Board of Legal Specialization recognizes attorneys in various areas of law, who, because of experience, training and examination, are awarded certificates of special competence. Out of a total State Bar membership of over 13,000 attorneys, there are only 110 Arizona attorneys now certified in the field of real estate law. He has also handled actions on behalf of his clients in over 10 of the State's counties.
Among other worthy accomplishments, Mr. Block was successful in defending an appeal to the United States Supreme Court regarding an issue of jurisdiction in the Federal Courts versus the State Courts.
Mr. Block's practice emphasizes the areas of real estate, construction, subdivision law, homeowners association, commercial law, partnership and corporation law. He has a substantial business oriented transactional background. He has expertise in commercial acquisitions, development matters, leasing, financing, water and other utility matters, environmental and zoning matters. He is an experienced negotiator and skilled draftsman. He currently represents 15 homeowners associations, both large and small associations, in the Tucson and Green Valley area. Mr. Block handles matters ranging from the purchase and sale of single family residence to the purchase and sale of apartment and commercial properties in excess of $30,000,000.00; in addition, he handles the purchase and sale of businesses ranging from $50,000.00 to $5,000,000.00, and consults with those businesses on a regular basis.
